Tiki Birthday!

So this is an old one! From LAST June, it was A's 23rd Surprise Party. While cleaning out my party bins yesterday afternoon, and seeing just how much Tiki stuff I had in there...I realized I never did share this party with y'all.  The pictures aren't the greatest, they were taken very last minute! I have since learned to start decorating 1-2 days prior to be able to get pictures of decor without faces and before something falls down or gets mutilated. Anyway here was our Tiki Party! It was a great time!
New Use for plastic table cloth, make it into waves for a beach party. We cut tiny fish out of colored paper to let everyone know it WAS water.

The only thing at this party that wasn't from the dollar store was the Tiki Bar that was rented for the occasion and all its contents.

Flowers and flip flops cut out of paper were scattered around the walls. Buckets and shovels were everywhere, to give the beachy feel. J did an amazing job painting the Palm on the patio door. The door ways were all lined with grass skirts, simply cut them so they stretched out.

Again J's handwork on the patio door

J and I worked together on the ideas for this cake, I baked and she executed. It was probably one of the coolest parts of the whole Tiki party (other than the Bar of course) Complete with sand castle, beach towel and drink beach umbrellas, I think it turned out Amazing!

Yep she used to be a straw decoration!

Soo the boys are going to kill me, but they probably don't read this anyway...(I hope) We had a great Just Dance competition on the wii, always a good time or a good laugh. And as always everyone dressed for the theme. =)

All of this was done at our apartment, and everything was made or from the dollarstore. A Tiki party on a budget.
